Helpful details for your day at the airfield.
Gliding is a weather dependent sport and safety restrictions prevent us from flying in rain, strong winds or gusty conditions. Unfortunately, we cannot predict what the weather will be like until the day of your booking. Remember to ring the clubhouse between 08:30 and 09:30 on the day using the number you were sent in your email to check that we are flying. If it is a non-flying day we will happily rearrange your flight for another time.
Please make sure you bring the voucher which was posted/ emailed or given to you. Without this you will not be able to fly.
The airfield provides little protection against sun, wind or rain so please make sure you wear suitable clothing, including robust footwear. In the summer months, it is important that you carry plenty of water.
Please make sure that you arrive fifteen minutes before the booking time you have picked. Please park in the car park to the right of the main entrance gate and make your way to the clubhouse (the green building which is behind the hangar to the left of the track).
Once there, please either make yourself known to a club member or use the landline phone located on the wall just inside the door to contact the mobile number on the notice. After you have made contact please wait by the blue and white sign in order for a member to come and collect you.
At no point should you move past this sign unattended: this is an active airfield and doing so unescorted could put you at risk.
